Eucharistic Adoration

Facilities Committee Meeting
All parishioners are welcome to this meeting on Wednesday, August 26 starting at 7:00 pm in the Parish Life Center. This meeting provides an opportunity to learn about renovations and plans for our parish facilities and grounds as well as provide suggestions and feedback. [posted 8/19-26/26]

Volunteer at Gennesaret
Mother of Sorrows has been asked to volunteer on the fifth Saturdays of the month (in 2026: January 31, May 30, August 29, and/or October 31) from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm in the Family Nutritional Center. Volunteers will prepare and serve meals, assist in the dining area and distribute groceries.  Gennesaret is located at 419 W Exchange St, Akron, OH 44302. Volunteer at St Vincent de Paul Ozanam Center
It is our parish's turn to volunteer on 8/29 from 9:15 am-12:00 pm. Volunteer opportunities depend on the number of volunteers present and may include staffing clothing rooms, counting clothes, sorting donations. The center is located at 93 Kent St, Akron, OH 44305. [posted 8/26-29/26]

The Bishop is Coming!
We're so pleased to announce that Bishop Malesic will be coming to our partish to celebrate Mass with us on Saturday, September 12 at 5:00 PM.  Please plan to come to this Mass so we can give our bishop a warm welcome.  Following Mass, we will have an outdoor-catered reception for him. This is our chance to come together to thank him for allowing us to remain an independent parish under a Presbyteral Moderator. We are asking parishioners to help with the reception by bringing a salad or dessert.  Sign up sheets are in the back of the church.  If you would prefer to make a cash donation to offset the cost of catering, please place it in the collection basket in an envelope marked "Bishop's Reception." Monthly Confession Time
Starting in September, our parish will offer monthly confession time from 4:15-4:45 on the first Saturday of the month before the 5:00 Mass.  Consider taking advantage of this sacrament on September 5. [posted 8/19-9/5/26]

Weekly Adoration Time
Starting on June 18, 2026, the church will be open every Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 pm; join Matt C for a few minutes or the full two hours.

Summer Travels and Sacred Places
Did you visit a church, cathedral, shrine, or other holy site during your summer vacation?  We’d love to hear about it!  Please share a brief description of the place you visited, along with one or two photos, so we can feature your experiences in an upcoming parish bulletin or on our parish website.
